“Who provides care—and under what conditions? Whether unpaid within one’s own family or as a professional activity in nursing, daycare, and social services, care work keeps our society running. Yet it often remains invisible and undervalued. Using historical and contemporary photographs and objects, interviews, and artistic interventions, the exhibition addresses topics such as the compatibility of work and family life, care migration and transnational parenting, working conditions in paid care, and the role of technical aids and AI in their development.

The exhibition is both a documentation and a catalyst: How can care work be distributed more fairly, better paid, and more highly valued? What does it take to create a society that does not function at the expense of many individuals, but rather rethinks care and nursing work? “CARE! When love becomes work” is an invitation to take a closer look—and an appeal to rethink care work in a spirit of solidarity and sustainability.”
